Keycloak Meetup #1: London, 20 November
The Keycloak User Group UK is holding its first meetup on Friday 20 November, 1–5pm, at London Bridge Hive — 8 Holyrood Street, London. Phase Two is sponsoring it, and we would like you there. It is a few short talks, some hands-on workshops, and an open discussion, followed by beers at Nine Lives from 5pm.
RSVP here. It is free, and the form is the only place that counts — see below.

RSVP on the Google Form, not on Meetup. Marking yourself as going on the Meetup page is useful for the organisers' headcount but it is not the registration — the form is. Join the Meetup group as well, because that is where schedule changes get posted.
What's actually planned
Short talks, workshops on Keycloak topics, and an open discussion. The speaker list is not published yet. If you have a topic you'd like to hear more about, or have a talk ready to go, reach out to us. The format is deliberately loose: this is the first one, and the point of a first meetup is to find out what the people in the room actually want from it.
What that means in practice is that the open discussion is likely to be the most useful hour of the afternoon, and it is worth turning up with a specific question rather than a general interest. The things people tend to want to compare notes on:
- Upgrades. Keycloak supports the latest release only, and the two previous even-numbered branches get security backports with no release and no image built from them. Everyone running Keycloak in production has an opinion about this, and most of them are frustrated.
- What you had to find out the hard way — the proxy header that broke your login flow, the realm export that didn't round-trip, the cache setting nobody documents. Our production checklist came out of exactly these conversations.
- Extensions and SPIs. What people have built, and what they gave up on. Our extensions are open source if you want to look at working examples before you come.
Who it's for
Anyone who runs Keycloak or is thinking about it. Genuinely both ends — if you are evaluating it and have never deployed one, the half of the room that has been running it for five years is the most valuable thing in the building. If you are that half of the room, come and argue with the other veterans.
You do not need to be a Phase Two customer, and nobody will treat you like a lead. We are sponsoring the venue and the first two drinks at Nine Lives; that is the extent of the commercial content.
Come and find us
We will be there for the whole afternoon and the evening. If you want to talk about anything — Keycloak tutorials you wish existed, an extension that does not, or what managed Keycloak would mean for your setup — find us at the bar rather than booking a call.
RSVP for 20 November, and bring a question you have not been able to get a straight answer to.
